TWO CONCERTS!“Homemade jazz-pop” is the sentence, that best describes iKai – a faroese jazz-pop project, consisting of four passionate members. The purpose of the project is, to combine memorable indiepop songwriting with complex jazz intricacies – all while maintaining a DIY aesthetic. Their music is written and arranged collectively in open-minded and intense jam sessions. iKai is on a metaphorical voyage through the subconscious mind, exploring unchartered artistic territory and uncovering sonic beauty.

Eyðlín Patursson á Rógvu (vocals)
ATIKA is a quartet based in Aarhus. The four members of the ensemble met under a common passion for Nordic melodies, southern rhythms and traditional music dating back to the Baroque and the Middle Ages. ATIKAS’s repertoire attempts to expand existing stylistic boundaries associated with specific musical genres.
ATIKA’s purpose is to bring old musical treasures to life. The ensemble has set itself as a guideline: instrumental music and research into instrumentation in the baroque tradition with a twist, including arrangements for modern instruments such as clarinet and saxophone. The group wants to reflect the geographical and cultural background of members. It is possible to note the constant exchange between the sacred and the secular, the folk and the high art, the orally transmitted musical tradition and the written music. The music shows the infinite secret nuances of color and rhythm, exchanged between the cultures – crossed and nourished by this cultural mix.
