Hein Westgaard Trio (NO), Gø (FO)
Hein Westgaard Trio
Playing their very own kind of experimental music, Hein Westgaard Trio is clearly inspired by jazz, but also by
country, rock, folk and classical music. The trio manages to translate all these elements into a unique form, where the
boundary between the composed and improvised parts becomes blurred.
Writing for Jazzport.cz , Jan Hocek described Hein Westgaard Trio as "one of the most distinctive young Nordic bands
[…] The music has a very loose, almost intuitive feel to it, with a tremendous tension arising between the surging guitar
and the elastic, seemingly disjointed rhythms."
Hein Westgaard Trio were finalists in Jazzintro 2021, a nationwide program for young and promising Jazz talents in
Norway. Theyy will be releasingg their debut album in tthe fall of 2023.

GØ was formed in 2015 by four young musicians from Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. Influenced by 70’s rock music and free jazz, GØ’s music has been praised for its originality and differs from anything else currently on the Faroese music scene. For the last couple of years GØ has been based in Aarhus, Denmark, and the band’s music has continued to intrigue audiences with its exciting energy and sometimes humoristic character.
