

Aldubáran (FO)
Eli Tausen á Lava is a promising and talented Faroese composer, who has been active on the classical music scene since 2016. Eli Tausen á Lava recieved his initial training from Faroese composer Sunleif Rasmussen, and has since obtained a BA from Malmø Academy of Music under the tutelage of renowned Swedish composer Rolf Martinsson. Eli Tausen á Lava is currently studying at NYU Steinhardt School of
Culture, Education, and Human Development.
For these concerts Eli Tausen á Lava has chosen a program of works, which depict him as a composer and illustrates the artistic development through his musical career. The composer will present and reflect on his works. The ensemble Aldubáran has commissioned a new work by Eli Tausen á Lava, a sinfonietta, which will be premiered at these concerts.
Despite being a young composer, Eli Tausen á Lava has written numerous works to great international acclaim. Eli’s works have been performed at events such as the ISCM World Music Days in Beijing, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the International Organ Festival in Moscow.
The ensemble Aldubáran was formed in 1995 by a group of Faroese musicians keen on promoting and performing Faroese contemporary classical music. Aldubáran currently consists of 14 musicians. Aldubáran has commissioned, recorded and performed numerous works by Faroese composers, Internationally as well as in the Faroe Islands to great acclaim.
